Notes

“First Glance” – Welcome Cocktail Recipe

Here’s a sophisticated cocktail version of “First Glance – Welcome Cocktail” that keeps the original flavor profile—bright, aromatic, and slightly herbaceous—but adds depth and structure through carefully chosen spirits. It’s designed to keep the emotional tone of anticipation and curiosity, with a refined edge.
Part of our Best Signature Mocktails for Your Wedding Series.

Ingredients (1 Serving):

  • 1.5 oz pineapple juice (freshly pressed)
  • 1 oz gin (ideally a botanical-forward gin like Hendrick’s or St. George Botanivore)
  • 0.75 oz basil-infused white tea (see method below)
  • 0.5 oz dry vermouth (adds gentle florality and complexity)
  • 0.5 oz verjus
  • 1 spritz yuzu zest (or express oils from fresh yuzu or lemon zest)
  • Optional: tiny pinch of sea salt (to heighten aromatics)

Instructions:

  1. Chill a coupette glass thoroughly.
  2. In a shaker with ice, combine pineapple juice, gin, infused tea, dry vermouth, verjus, and salt.
  3. Shake until cold and well-integrated.
  4. Double strain into the chilled coupette.
  5. Garnish with a pineapple crisp and a small basil blossom.
  6. Finish with a fine spritz of yuzu zest over the surface for bright aromatics.

The Experience:

This cocktail version carries the same emotional intent as the mocktail—lighthearted, beautiful, and engaging—but with a touch more complexity and ceremony.

Basil-Infused White Tea — Brewing Method
