Stage 6 Summary

Ben Healy (EF Education-EasyPost) won stage 6 of the Tour de France 2025, a 201.5km route from Bayeux to Vire Normandie with 3,550m of elevation, described as the toughest flat stage in recent Tour history. Healy, part of an early breakaway, dropped his companions 42km from the finish to claim Ireland’s 15th Tour stage win, the first since 2020. Quinn Simmons (Lidl-Trek) and Michael Storer (Tudor) finished second and third. Mathieu Van der Poel (Alpecin-Deceuninck), also in the breakaway, regained the Maillot Jaune by just 1 second over Tadej Pogacar (UAE Team Emirates-XRG), who led the peloton to the finish 5’27’’ behind Healy. The stage saw a fierce battle for the breakaway, with an 8-man group forming after a chaotic start, and Healy’s decisive move on the Côte de Saint-Michel-de-Montjoie secured his victory.
