How-To Recipe Tips

Ashwagandha Extract Syrup

Ashwagandha extract syrup is a sweet, pourable syrup that delivers the adaptogenic benefits of ashwagandha (Withania somnifera) in a cocktail- and mocktail-friendly format. It combines ashwagandha extract—typically from the root—with a natural sweetener (like honey, agave, or cane sugar), sometimes infused with complementary flavors such as vanilla, cinnamon, or citrus.

How to Make It at Home (with Liquid Extract):

Ingredients:

  • 1 oz (2 tablespoons) liquid ashwagandha extract (alcohol- or glycerin-based)
  • 3 oz (6 tablespoons) honey, agave, or simple syrup
  • (Optional): 1/4 tsp vanilla extract or a thin slice of fresh ginger

Instructions:

  1. Combine 1 oz of ashwagandha liquid extract with 3 oz of your chosen sweetener in a small bowl or jar.
  2. Add vanilla extract or fresh ginger if desired to enhance flavor.
  3. Stir or whisk thoroughly until the mixture is uniform and smooth.
  4. If using a thick sweetener like honey, warm it slightly before mixing.
  5. Pour into a sealed glass jar or bottle.
  6. Store in the refrigerator for up to 3 weeks.
